Common questions
I can't find the Capture Pro icon
Click the puzzle piece icon at the top right of Chrome, find Capture Pro, and click the pin next to it.
Why won't some pages capture?
Chrome blocks extensions from its own pages, such as settings pages starting with chrome://, the Chrome Web Store, and pages belonging to other extensions. Every screenshot extension has this limit. Normal websites work.
The keyboard shortcuts don't work
Another extension may be using the same keys. Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts in the address bar to check them or pick different ones.
My full page capture stopped before the end
Some pages keep loading more as you scroll, like social media feeds, and never really end. Capture Pro follows a page as it grows, up to half as long again as it was when you started, then stops and tells you. Extremely long pages also stop after 40 screens, or when they reach the largest image Chrome can create.
A header or menu repeats down my full page capture
Capture Pro hides headers and menus that follow you down the page so they only appear once, but every site builds these differently. If one slips through, email the address of the page and it can be fixed.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
- Free: unlimited captures and annotation, with 5 exports a day. Saving, copying and sharing each count as one export. The count resets every day.
- Pro: unlimited exports and share links, for a single one-off payment. There is no subscription.
How do I activate Pro?
Your licence key is in the Gumroad email you received after buying. Click the Capture Pro icon, open Settings with the gear icon, paste the key into the licence box and click Verify.
Does Pro work without internet?
Yes. Once your licence has been verified, Pro keeps working offline for up to 30 days. Connecting to the internet again refreshes it.
Who can see my share links, and for how long?
Anyone who has the link can view the image, so only share links with people you trust. Shared images are deleted automatically 30 days after they are created. If you need one removed sooner, email the link and it will be deleted.
Where are my screenshots kept?
Your last 50 screenshots are kept on your own device, and the most recent 5 appear in the Capture Pro popup, where you can click one to reopen it. Clicking Save PNG also puts a copy in your Downloads folder. Nothing is uploaded unless you create a share link. You can clear saved screenshots at any time in Settings.
How do I hide private details before sharing?
In the editor, choose the Blur tool, or press B, and drag a box over anything you want hidden, such as an email address or account number.
